QUICKSURFACE Maintenance Explained
Maintenance keeps your QUICKSURFACE software up to date with the latest features, improvements and technical support. For permanent licences, renewal is optional.
Will my software stop working if I don’t renew maintenance?
No. Your QUICKSURFACE permanent licence will continue to work normally. You can keep using your current software version without interruption.
What does maintenance include?
Maintenance provides access to the latest software releases, new features, performance improvements and technical support. For QUICKSURFACE Pro users, active maintenance also provides access to QUICKSURFACE AI in version 2027, available from 17 November 2026.
When does my maintenance start?
Maintenance starts from the day you activate your licence, not from the purchase date.
Is maintenance included with a new permanent licence?
Yes. Every new purchase of QUICKSURFACE Pro and QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS permanent licences includes 1 year of maintenance.
Is QUICKSURFACE AI included with maintenance?
QUICKSURFACE AI is included with QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027 at no additional software licence cost. For permanent licence holders, active maintenance is required to access AI functionality. QUICKSURFACE AI will be available from 17 November 2026.
Will QUICKSURFACE AI work if my maintenance has expired?
NO. For QUICKSURFACE Pro permanent licences, active maintenance is required to use QUICKSURFACE AI. If your maintenance has expired, you will need to renew it to access the AI functionality.
Do I have to renew maintenance every year?
No. Maintenance renewal is completely optional for permanent licences. You can continue using your existing software version without interruption and choose to renew maintenance whenever it suits your needs.
Can I renew maintenance after it has expired?
Yes. You can renew your maintenance at any time.
If your maintenance has expired, the renewal cost includes the missed maintenance period:
- If you renew 2 years after purchase → you pay 1 year of maintenance.
- If you renew 3 years after purchase → you pay 2 years of maintenance.
- If you renew 4 years or more after purchase → you pay 3 years of maintenance.
The total renewal cost is capped at 35% of the current listed end-user price of the permanent licence.
What happens if I don’t have maintenance?
Your permanent licence will continue to work normally. However, you will not receive new software releases, feature updates or maintenance-based technical support.
Active maintenance is also required to access QUICKSURFACE AI with a permanent QUICKSURFACE Pro licence.
Why do customers choose to renew maintenance?
Customers renew maintenance to access the latest QUICKSURFACE technology, benefit from new features and improvements, receive technical support and keep their software up to date with evolving engineering workflows.
Do I need to pay extra to use QUICKSURFACE AI?
There is sans additional QUICKSURFACE AI software licence fee for eligible QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027 users. However, you need to connect your own supported AI provider, such as OpenAI or Claude. Separate usage fees from your AI provider may apply.
Which QUICKSURFACE licences include AI?
QUICKSURFACE AI is included with QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027, for both permanent and subscription licences, at no additional software licence cost.
Permanent licence holders need active maintenance to access AI functionality.
QUICKSURFACE AI is not included in QUICKSURFACE Lite or QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS.
