Who is behind QUICKSURFACE?
QUICKSURFACE and Mesh2Surface products are developed by KVS Ltd.
Our expertise dates back to 1996, when our team helped to create the first hand-held 3D laser scanner – 3DScanners ModelMaker. This invention won the European IST Grand Prize for being the best and most accurate scanner in the industry.
The ModelMaker scanner is still well known today, holding the new name ‘Nikon ModelMaker’.
Included with the scanner was the software KUBE: it was used to drive the 3D laser scanning and the post-processing of the data, making the package one of the most intuitive and easy to use in the market. Our team was responsible for almost all of the activities related to the software from creating accurate point clouds to generating optimised results.

Kostadin Vrantzaliev, the Product manager of the KVS company, was the head of the original KUBE development.
“Thanks to the requirements on my position, I had the opportunity to visit many customers and understand their needs when scanning physical objects. 3D Scanning is a great step in the whole pipeline, but it is not on its own – you need to do something with the scanned data. This helped me to understand what people expect and gave me the chance to apply this in development of our products. Based on all this experience, we are happy to provide our products the way they are – simple, easy to use, fast, accurate and efficient.” – Kostadin Vrantzaliev, CEO and Product Manager
Our first product
In 2014, the head of the original KUBE development, Kostadin Vrantzaliev initiated a new venture. The team created Mesh2Surface as a plug in for Rhinoceros, one of the most versatile of all 3D modelling software.
A few years later, in 2019, KVS Ltd introduced QUICKSURFACE, a standalone application purpose-built for advanced 3D reverse engineering. Designed to transform 3D scan polygonal meshes into precise, parametric CAD/CAM models, QUICKSURFACE delivers a complete scan-to-CAD workflow trusted by engineers worldwide. The same core technology is also deployed across multiple global 3D scanning ecosystems through OEM partnerships, forming a foundational layer in advanced reverse-engineering workflows. Combining speed, accuracy, and intuitive hybrid parametric modeling tools for both organic and prismatic geometry, QUICKSURFACE has established itself as a leading solution in hybrid 3D reverse engineering.
Mesh2Surface for SOLIDWORKS
In 2021, KVS introduced another reverse-engineering solution — Mesh2Surface for SOLIDWORKS, a powerful add-in that enables users to convert 3D scan meshes into precise CAD models directly inside SOLIDWORKS. The software provides efficient tools for generating surfaces and curves, helping engineers reconstruct professional parametric CAD models within a fully integrated SOLIDWORKS environment. In 2025, Mesh2Surface for SOLIDWORKS was rebranded as QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS, aligning it with the broader QUICKSURFACE technology platform.
QUICKSURFACE and QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS are used by thousands of customers worldwide, including global brands such as Nike, Pandora, NASA, Toyota, and Haribo.
“We are the bridge between 3D scanning and manufacturing” – Kostadin Vrantzaliev, CEO and Product Manager
