Recap: Hybrid Reverse Engineering with QUICKSURFACE – Live Workshop Highlights
We’ve just wrapped up another exciting QUICKSURFACE live workshop, and we’re thrilled with the turnout, the engagement, and the inspiring conversations that took place during the session!
The topic this time: Hybrid Reverse Engineering using QUICKSURFACE — a powerful workflow that blends standard CAD design with freeform modeling to create accurate, flexible, and editable hybrid models from scan data.
Held live via Google Meet, the session welcomed professionals from a wide range of industries — from product design and manufacturing to education and scanning services — all looking to streamline their reverse engineering workflows and get more out of their scan data.

Leading the presentation was our Applications Engineer, Victors Grigorjevs, who walked attendees through real-world examples of how to approach hybrid modeling inside QUICKSURFACE.
Victors demonstrated:
- How to align a scanned object to the coordinate system
- How to approach complex objects for hybrid modeling
- When and how to apply freeform modeling vs. parametric tools
- Live demonstration: from 3D scan to CAD to a real physical object
The demo sparked plenty of great questions — and we were lucky to have QUICKSURFACE CEO, Kostadin Vrantsaliev, joining us live to answer them in real-time. From licensing to advanced workflows, Kostadin shared insights and behind-the-scenes knowledge about the power and vision behind QUICKSURFACE.
